Youth Dance

Drishti Dance was established in 2008 and took in its first youth students within Reading in 2012. From that time onwards, it has grown from strength to strength with additional dance centres now in Oxford and Didcot.

Drishti Dance’s youth dance wing is one of its pride and joy and has represented South East region in National UDance for two consecutive years, 2018 and 2019. It was one of first Youth Dance groups from Classical Indian Genre to represent the region on a national platform.

Our youth dance students have also represented ISTD’s Classical Indian Dance Faculty in Bursary Award competition and have also been selected for Yuva Gati, the national South Asian Dance strand for Centre for Advance Dance Training (CAT).

“I thoroughly enjoyed Drishti Youth Dance’s performance as part of UDance 2018 national festival and the variations explored in the piece since UDance Lift Off Dance Festival in April. It was fantastic to see the first Kathak piece from the south east selection platform in the national festival.”

“I loved the complexity in rhythms, dynamics and spatial patterns in Rhythm Incessant. What a beautiful performance by your dancers. Their attention to detail, expression and musicality is a pleasure to watch. Well done to the Drishti Dance artistic team and dancers for all your hard work!”
